Mage weak?

Can you really play a Mage in solo pve content?

I know all about a Warrior and he's fine but a Mage? I mean just putting points into a Mage?

I just started a Mage and I find myself going back to Warrior mode as a Mage starting out is pretty weak. I imagine you can become quite powerful in later levels but for the first 10 or so levels do you die a lot?

I'm asking as I hate to die more then anything and it seems unless you switch to Warrior you'll die during the first few levels from approx 1-15.

Oh, well there's quite a huge contrast at higher levels on this subject.
Mages in this game at higher levels are just ridiculous. I mean, to the point where you might question the dev's intelligence. There's an invincibility AND an invisibility spell and they're usable in pvp. Warriors seriously are not nearly a comparison to mages at higher levels.

Haha, exactly Camper is right. I play as a lvl 70 necro, and if you don't like dying you can just pop a healing spell or something, not to mention the damage is insane!
