How does one use Altar magic in TW2 PC Version 1.1.2

Altar magic does not seem to work in Two Worlds 2 PC Ver. 1.1.2. The Altar Carrier card does not seem to permit putting any Effect card with it. One of the on-line hints (written before V1.1 was released) suggests putting the Altar card in the left-hand card-slot and the Effect card in the right-hand slot instead of the usual order which is Effect left, Carrier right. No go with V1.1.2. The Altar card will only go in the Carrier slot and refuses to have any effect card in my possession paired with it; I have some for all the normal elements. ... Is some special Effect card mandatory for use with Altar that I just have not picked up yet. I do not have any Verita cards.....? The Amulet Interface gives no hint and the game manual is no help..... Finished Erimos Tower of Fangs including almost all the Erimos side-quests. Level 25 character. All of the character's Magic Skills are fully active.

What am I doing wrong? I started the game originally with V1.1 and only tried Altar magic for the very first time after upgrading to V1.1.2. (Being able to turn off the resizable interface is very nice on my large-screen 1920x1080 display..) All the other magic combos seem to work just fine with V1.1.2.

Interesting ideas....
Anyway what you need to do is follow the Altar card with Enchant card. This way the altar will give you any enchant effect.
The reason it is that way is that in alpha versions if was possible to create other altar effects, like AOE but it turned out not to work all the time so we had to throw it out.

Ah, yes it needs to be a MULTI-LEVEL spell with only the Altar card and Time Cards (if desired) at the first level and the requisite enchantment combo on the next level. Tried it, seems to work just fine. Thanks for the hint.
