The Magic Building Kit – Part 2

In the last issue, we gave you an overview of the new magic system - now we're going to give you all the details on how it works!

The magical attributes of your newly created spell are determined by the individual values of the spell cards you use - and these spell cards are in turn sub-divided into two basic groups: The "Base Cards" define the type of spell, like spatial spells or magic missiles, while "Modification Cards" define the class of the element (e.g. ice or fire) or attributes like speed and damage. Whether you use more or less Mana and whether you need a correspondingly longer time to summon spells depends on the combination of your set of cards. The player level and the total of 35 learnable magical skills must also be taken into account – if the magic is too complex for your own skills, the spell could misfire and maybe even injure you. The game’s well thought-out system prevents any combination of spells that are too powerful - without putting too many limitations on your experiments! And for the player who likes to take it easy, there are spells available to buy from merchants! RPG fans… get ready to rumble!

NEWSFLASH!!

"The Temptation" has an even wider diversity of species than its predecessor! Here at Zuxxez we get a constant stream of animal models from the developers in Poland. Today, for example, we got a baboon. The picture originates from a special program called "Motion Builder", which defines the basic movements of figures. Motion Capturing is also used for the more important figures of course. This ape is great at scratching its head and showing its rear to the player... unbelievably lifelike!

A new round of questions!
This is for all you "The Temptation" fans out there who're hungry for answers! We'll soon have another opportunity to speak to project leader Mirek Dymek - and we'll be asking him YOUR questions! If any of you have a question for him, just mail it to me at jsr(@)zuxxez.com. We'll collect all your queries and ask him as many questions as possible (until he loses his voice!) – then we'll publish the answers in one of the next issues, OK? If you want to tell Mirek anything you think he ought to consider, like your suggestions, ideas, etc... just send 'em in!
