THIS IS A PUBLIC BETA: PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND READ THE README.

DOWNLOAD LINK IS AT THE BOTTOM, MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THIS.

Two Worlds Human Female Mod ver. 1.3 - 72MB

Instructions:

You can access registry via REGEDIT:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\REALITY PUMP\TWOWORLDS\MODS
To disable mod in registry change its value to 0, to activate change to 1

1: Disable ALL OTHER MODS in control panel or via registry
2: Disable ALL OTHER MODS in control panel or via registry (double check)
3: Delete old save-games (make sure you do this)
4: Start two worlds to make sure it works
5: Quit two worlds
6: Place BETAHUMANFEMALE13.wd into Mods folder
7: Start two worlds to make sure it works
8: Quit two worlds
9: Activate mod via control panel or registry
10: Start a new game
11: Press F1 to confirm the mod as taken effect, check stats, etc....

THIS IS A COMPLETE CONVERSION WHICH CHANGES MANY THINGS IN THE GAME

Elf Male starts in Magma Flame Leather with Firebolt, Overpower, Summon Minion

Oops! Lost the melee again. Whiff, whiff. This is some tricky adjustment. Looks wonderful, as usual.

Playing on Hard, can't even land one hit in 10 on animals or Groms. Magic works.

I found the problem.

The issue is the way the game calculates COMBAT DISTANCE with males vs females.

I've now fixed this so that combat distance is increased:

Please get a copy of WDPACKER.
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY
THIS IS ONLY FOR THE FEMALE BETA MOD 1.3

Download this file:

Open up the betahumanfemalemod13 in wdpacker.
Delete the TwoWorlds.par under \Parameters
Save
Add the new TwoWorlds.par under \Parameters
Save
Run game
I RECOMMEND STARTING A NEW GAME

Let me know how things go, it works just great for me, if anything you can hit enemies farther then intended now.

Even with new parameters file its still the same, if not even worse for me, cant hit anything anymore with the old parameter file I hit sometimes at least...

BTW the more I look into this game modding Im glad I dont do anything! This game does everything to not be modded I guess....

Yes, doesn't work any better, and to test the theory of striking distance I bought a long staff. No luck with that either.

(Of course, the modded difficulty on Hard is so easy that you could coast through legions of Groms and wolves using an unstacked lightning bolt and not even bother to cash in the heap of skill points you get...)

I had some hits in the opening sequence inside the temple, but once outside, things went from bad to worse. Zero hits on a prowling bear and a few wolves, got in the occasional, infrequent hit on the first Groms down the hill, but had to take them out with lightning. Worse the further along you go...

Meanwhile, what is the point behind the manipulation of all these balance values? I'm sure that you have something in mind, but very few players have complained about the balance of the game (although some reviewers did). It certainly has caused endless problems getting the mods to work properly. I hope it is worth the bother. That's why we have Easy, Medium and Hard.

Scotty and Migwell...please do NOT try this on hard. Try this on medium, it works perfectly for me on that mode.

If it is getting worse then you did not install the file right.

Did you make sure to start a new game and delete your old save-games.

I'm only changing ONE parameter, not modifying anything else.

I think when you ar eplaying hard it is jacking up the monsters defense too much to hit them.

I'm going to need to take a look at nerfing the monsters on hard, they get too many bonuses.

I'm going to try some things and release a new file to see if I can fix some things

Well, I have insured that I followed your instructions exactly, started new games on Medium and on Easy. There is clearly a difference twixt the two, but small. On easy, after exiting the temple, I took on 2 boars roaming the grounds and actually hit them once or twice before ignobly dying. On Medium I couldn't manage a single hit.

I say that things get worse because even on hard, I am landing blows on the Groms inside the temple, but once outside I can't hit anything, or only quite rarely.

I've reverted monsters back to original.
reduced the hit range which should fix some bugs

Now I used TWO SWORDS for this test.

Results:

1: On medium I was able to hit everyting including the big grom camp near the town.

2: On hard hard difficulties with ONE boar and no problems at last grom camp, but died at last guy.

i was hitting just fine though. please test this new one and let me know.

There is no need to repackage the .PAR into the WD. You can place it in the directory "Parameters" and it will overwrite the mod's PAR.
Parameters must be created where the TwoWorlds.exe is. Don't forget to delete the file after that...

Reynen, tried the latest 'parameter' file on Medium and it is indeed an improvement.

Let me make a few observations which may or may not be correct.

1. Perhaps the reason the devs did not make a Female as a playable character is that they could not get these issues adjusted properly? I hope not!

2. Playing with the latest parameter, I noticed that against wolves, for example, whenever I got one wolf separated from the group, my blows landed quite well. When the pack attacks, however, I miss almost constantly. Some sort of detection problem, or 'confusion' as to what you are supposed to hit?

3. In your mods, I have noticed that the little identification icon for doors and chests, instead of appearing in front of you, appears at your feet. Same with the star that you see when you level up. In the game the star appears over your head, but in the mods it appears at your feet. As you know, these icons (doors, chests, the hand that indicates an object to pick up) have to be in view on the screen for you to perform the action.

I often find myself at a door in the mod, having to look down at my feet in order to open the door. So the 'focus' of the character is off a bit in general, perhaps explaining a lot of the missing hits. I also see that the information panel (for me just another unwanted and unnecessary bit of screen clutter) about NPC's sometimes is flickering, sometimes there, sometimes not. So there is some kind of detection irregularity. I found that even picking up plants was a bit difficult, getting the icon onto the screen properly.

Still, this latest change is a big improvement. You generally get hits most of the time and I suppose after a while you might get used to being completely helpless (or magic-dependent) in some situations against groups of enemies.

I've seen people discussing what I think may be the cause of the missing issue with packs of wolves. It's an odd quirk that makes a high dex almost an impediment - when you dodge an attack, you actually /move/. Your character actually steps to dodge, and this stepping causes your attacks to miss because it takes you out of attack range. I'm not familiar with this, and thus can't be sure, but if you can hit one wolf fine, and miss around packs of wolves, it sounds like this is the cause.

Its still pretty bad and no where near as normal as with the non female mod. So I dont think its because of high dex or something like monster difficulty, the problem should be with the male mod aswell then, but isnt at all!

I noticed the problems migwell discribed aswell, I believe that could very well be the problem here. It is also very weird with the new parameter file, sometimes I hit 20 times in a row, then I miss 30 times in a row...

And I nearly cant hit anything at all with anything but dual wielding weapons. I guess thats because you have so many attacks while dual wiedling it kind of counters the existing problem a bit.

I guess its not really worth all the trouble just for a female character and nothing more!

Female characters are great to have, I always prefer them. Some big hulking Conan the Barbarian mowing down hordes of enemies is nothing compared to a small, quick female character taking on the impossible odds.

True what you say, though, Scotty. The human male character simply works a lot better.

The auto-dodge can happen when you are not swinging your weapon but not when you are, but I have been in the middle of a pack of wolves, swinging away and not dodging (I can recognize it when it happens) and missing every single swing.

I would say that it is currently possible to play the female character as a pure mage, perhaps with archery skills. Now if we could get Reynen to dispense with all his other balance and point and difficulty changes, I wouldn't mind trying that out.

this mod is really a great work.
I have just begun to play a little bit with this parameterfiles ...
This costs many many time.

I have finished a first version of a singleplayer-kira-mod.
I had this problem with the missing attacks too. But after changing
all parameters from mal to female everything is allright now.

I think ReynenStarfyre, you missed to change one parameter.
Check the "Heroes" Part from the TwoWorlds.par. Look at the entries
by the female heroes and compare them with the settings from your
new heroine.

Nethertheless a very great work. I bow down.


By the way ...
I have one problem with my kira-mod. Kira's hair is part from her skin.
How is it possible to create a separate hairpiece (lol) for kira.
I have no maya and no knowledge about that.
I would be nice to see kira with her long black hair when I use other
armor than her own blue dress.



Maybe Phalynx know a solution ?

Due to the brilliant work of RILUNE all these issues have been fixed.
I am very grateful for his help on this.

Also what others said I agree with the issue of Dodging and groups not targeting right. This is a targeting issue and I am not sure why it is happening.

ReynenStarfyre, would it be really difficult to make a female mod without all the added armors? I like the other changes you have to your mods, but would like the original game armors, if possible. Either way, looking foward to the female mod.
