15 FPS on all settings on a 2.3GHz dual core, 2GB of ram and a 8600GT...
Just downloaded the demo and on all settings on 1400x1050 I get a solid 15 FPS that never changes. I'm running it on Vista if that matters. All help is appreciated, is this just a demo issue?

thats wrong definatly, i have a 7600gt, running vista ultimate, 1GB ram, pent 4 3.04ghz.
1440x900, high settings, HDR off, 2x antialiasing.
and i get 18-25 fps average runnign the full game 1.5 patch.

2.3GHz Dual core is better than 3Ghz P4... Also the 8600GT is 512mb and it's very similar performance to the 7600GT and definitely not worse. It's not a system issue, it's either Vista or the game so I'm sure that it can be fixed.

That's the PC, I have no idea what model number the dual core is but the PC runs Gothic 3 maxed so the PC can't be a problem. Especially when it runs at 15FPS on lowest settings as well as high.

I gotta admit, I lol'ed at that. Are you sure it's not a CPU-priority problem? My friend's computer did that with Battlefield 2 and some other games when he didn't set it right and he had a dual-core.

I have the same problem, extremely laggy even though it's single player and not even online. It's so choppy that I was gonna shut it off, the best performance I get for this game is the lowest resolution setting. I have 3.2 pentium 4 with a 6800gt overclocked, 2 gigs of ram. Should be able to run it smooth AT LEAST on the lowest settings but it doesn't. I can run it at a high resolution and it pretty much stays at the same performance so I definately understand the topic starter on his situation. Can't wait for the 360 version lol. (and no thats not to start any problems with pc owners, just don't own a l33t pc anymore lol) Until then though, I'll just keep chopin through the demo.

Ya I'll be getting the 360 version because of the controller and I'd prefer playing on my 32" Sharp Aquos or 60" Panasonic but I'd also like to run the game on my laptop.

Rrg. I'm kinda fuzzy on it... but somewhere in the task manager, after right clicking and looking at numerous options... there should be something that *i think* allows you to set CPU priority to either the first or second CPU. Your best bet is to ask some tech forum or something though, because I'm DEFINITELY no authority on the subject

They're updated. The ONLY thing that helps the framerate is the resolution. Which doesn't seem at all right. I can play on minimum everything and a high resolution and get 15FPS or high on a high res and get 15FPS. The only thing that makes the FPS change is lowering or heightening the res.

when its nvidia look at the hundreds. the 300 is crappy low range the 600's is always mid range and 800 and 900 is top range. the thousands dont matter that much, only that 8000 series is dx10 compatible.
also the 8600 is a 256mb card. so its not worth $600. probably $250.
