TwoWorldsVault Preview/Interview
Jun 22, 2010 - 6:36 PM - by Infamous
TWV give us a rundown of what they played/saw at the Southpeak E3 Booth.
And provide an interview where they talk about Lag on xbox, multiplayer balancing and general Game Mechanics.

Quote:
I got some hands-on time with a build of the new game on the show floor at E3 and snagged TopWare's Community Director Jake DiGennaro for a few answers to the Two World Vault's questions. The sequel takes place five years after the original and a lot has changed.

The graphical improvements in the sequel are the first thing that hit you as a big change when you take control of your avatar. The first level I played with took place in a deep cavern, with the light from lanterns reverberating around the walls, and real-time shadows dancing around the rocks. The dynamic lighting, compounded by everything being

Two Worlds II @ G4TV
Jun 22, 2010 - 6:24 PM - by Infamous
G4TV witnessed and briefly played Two Worlds II.
They were impressed by the Spell creation they saw.
Although seem to have implied they didn't enjoy combat.

Quote:
The SouthPeak rep who ran me through the game’s extensive features list definitely sold me on the complexity, variety and depth of Two Worlds II’s gameplay. The spell creation walkthrough was mighty impressive, since simply tweaking the parameters of a few spell card qualities completely changed the qualities of that spell. One second you’re tossing a single fiery projectile, the next minute, that single fireball has changed to three balls that ricochet off surfaces. The possibilities for customizable spells are essentially limitless (Fun fact: the game is currently being assessed by the Guinness Book of World Records for most spell combinations ever in a game.) The lighting effects and environments were also eye-catching, and nicely detailed, as were

Two Worlds II (it's actually fun!) @ Destructoid
Jun 22, 2010 - 6:07 PM - by Infamous
Destructoid editor Jim Sterling has checked out Two Worlds II and seems to have came back pleased with what he saw and played!Even going as far as to say "Overall, there is no doubt that this game is vastly superior to the original"

Quote:
Speaking from a purely aesthetic standpoint, the difference between Two Worlds and Two Worlds II is like night and day. A new closer perspective, slicker animations, and generally more polished graphics makes this look like an entirely different game. In fact, if you gave me a demo of Two Worlds II without telling me what it was, I would easily believe that it was a totally new RPG rather than the sequel to one of the worst RPGs ever made.

This difference translates into the gameplay, too. The closer camera lends itself well to a more action-oriented game, as players of

Two Worlds II Impressions @ Kombo
Jun 19, 2010 - 5:32 PM - by Infamous
Kombo had a hands on session with with TWII and have reported back.
Whilst they applaud the Mage character they played as stating "clearly the most powerful and fun class. ".
They also noticed some issues like Hit Detection and graphics looked pixalated in some areas (hasn't been mentioned before).
But they were assured by Southpeak that RP are fine tuning and polishing the game.
Quote:
That seems to be the case for the rest of the game, as well, especially character interactions, animations and dialogue, as well as hit detection and movement. However, Southpeak assured me that Reality Pump is busy as bees fine tuning and polishing the game. Players can add skill points to their characters' stats in three different areas: warrior, mage and ranger, and they can

Two Worlds II @ PCGamingCorner
Jun 19, 2010 - 5:14 PM - by Infamous
Another Brief Article on TWII at E3.
They seem to be impressed by the graphics.

Quote:
The first thing I noticed about the game was its excellent physics. Chains move when bumped into, objects can be picked up and destroyed, and objects float in water. In fact, while walking in water, smaller objects move out of the way more easily than larger ones.

Shadows are also very realistic. Our demo was on the Xbox 360 version, but it looked like a full-fledged PC game. The shadows have soft edges for realism and move with characters and objects.
Environments ranged from dungeons to beautiful outdoor scenery. Textures were detailed and fit the game style. Grass swayed in the wind.
By far one of the most interesting gameplay elements was the dialogue sequences. Unlike in traditional RPGs where the player is stuck with fixed, non-controllable camera angles, players can walk around the conversation host and change

Two Worlds II Impressions @I4U

Yesterday at E3 2010 I found myself wandering by SouthPeak's booth. I settled in for a demo of their new RPG, Two Worlds II. I first saw this game in video-demo form at PAX East, and it has come a long way in the intervening months.

Graphics: This is a very pretty RPG. Armor is layered and extremely detailed, weapons glint realistically under the light, cities look great (whether they actually feel alive and active remains to be seen) and the game world itself is a sprawling feast for the eyes. Weapons have been given a special dose of love; my wizard's staff looked like it was made entirely out of burning embers.

Gameplay: Two Worlds is a classless game, which means you'll never get
